About the Event
The Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice (ACIJ), in partnership with FIRM Action and members of the We Are Home Campaign, is proud to host “The March to Victory: Relay Across America” on April 24, 2021, in front of the Alabama State Capitol in Montgomery, AL, at 1:00 pm, as part of a national effort to demand that Alabama Senators Richard Shelby and Tommy Tuberville fight for justice and guarantee:
1. An inclusive COVID recovery package for everyone,
2. A halt to all ICE activities, and
3. A humane immigration system that protects the 11 million undocumented immigrants in our country.
The Relay Across America consists of community-led efforts, composed of in-person and virtual events, that began in Washington, DC on March 17, and will continue with subsequent events planned in nearly 30 states through May 1. The relay aims to unite communities across the country in calling for a humane immigration system that protects the 11 million undocumented immigrants in our country, including essential workers, DACA and TPS recipients, and those who currently do not have a path towards citizenship.
